Johnny was faboo!

it Is SOOOO not a movie for children!

It was kind of creepy in that "Escape to Witch Mountain" kind of way. But we loved it. And did anyone else pick up on the "sheep love" scene? Hmmmm...

And I loved the one Oompa Loompa dude.

I was compelled to take my camera out and get a picture of Johnny, but I didn't want to copy Dooce...Dooce's picture of Johnny

but the best part....

The trailer for The Goblet of Fire - my Goodness, puberty has hit Harry, Ron and hermione HARD! Harry is handsome as ever, Hermione pretty, and Ron, well, he's not so cute anymore, kind of dorky lookin, so I hope he grows out of it - but I was rivited to that trailer - I cannot WAIT for November 18th!

Johnny was good and sufficiently creepy nice to have the movie date chica.

Darn, I had a feeling it wasn't a good kid movie! I have a 4-year-old that loves the first one and notices every one of the new previews. But I have a feeling she'll find it a lot scarier than the first one.

Heck, she likes Harry Potter, but has to sit on our lap and bury her face in our chests at certain parts.

I clicked over from the Unidyke's blog, and it was the Willy Wonka reference that drew me.

I saw the movie yesterday and loved it! I disagree, though, about it not being a kids' movie. I thought the scary/weird stuff was just scary and weird enough -- esp. if the kid is familiar with the book. My son, 6 1/2, thought it was excellent.

I thought Depp was spot on as Willy and I can't wait to see it again. I'll stop gushing now.

Ron was always dorky-looking in my opinion.

CCF is not on my short list. Johnny Depp looks too much like Michael Jackson for comfort. I do love Dahl's 'Lamb to the Slaughter,' however. My cousin read it to me at a very tender age and I believe it is directly responsible for making me a very strange child.

I highly recommend it if you haven't read it. You can probably find it in full online.
