She's fine, so let's talk about my toe...

Outside of a small wake up at 3am, which I would normally ignore, but went to her, for fear of seeing a hugely swollen face and such (but didn't), she simply needed a diaper change, a re-dose of Motrin, and a snuggle.

And then she woke up at 8am. Ahhhhhh.

So she's totally fine, but THANK you all for helping to alleviate my fears. And we seriously won't give her any more until she's OH, 30 or so!

So I think I have my first ingrown toenail. OUCH. I'm doing a twice or thrice daily soak with hot hot water and salt, and then putting anti-biotic ointment on it and band aid. the band aid helps relieve some of the pain, but dammit! This is my first one, and I'm hoping it will just resolve itself, because there's too much going on at work for me to go to the doctor right now...

ugh.

So any of you lovelies have "ingrown toenail" experience?

And for the record, if you do a Google image search? Mine's like the "mild" picture - none of the nastiness yet, but it still HURTS!

I'm so glad Malka's fine. :)

I used to get really bad ingrown toenails. Usually they resolve themselves, but I had 3 really bad ones on my big toes that required surgery. The doctor cut them out and then gave me some kind of shot in my toe that stopped them from growing side to side. I still have to be careful how I cut them though.

If you're not going to see a doctor, just keep doing what you're doing. I hope they get better soon.

Ingrown toenails are soooo painful. I lived with them for years and ended up having surgery which has helped but I still get the odd problem/infection. Keep up the salt water soaks and make sure your footwear is loose around the toes. Open-toed is best if you can get away with it at work (it's summer there right?). Take great care not to drop anything on your toe or kick it on anything.

I'm glad Malka is doing fine.

As for ingrown toenails...Dr. Scholl's Ingrown Toenail Pain Reliever. Walgreens.com has it and I can't even tell you how wonderful it is and how fast it works! No need to go to a doctor, unless of course, it's infected. GO BUY IT!!!

I had one of the "very mild" variety. It hurt for a week or two and then stopped. No soaking or anything. Hopefully yours will be that mild.

I'm glad Malka's okay, and I hope the toenail gets better quickly.

Glad Malka was well. YUCK on the ingrown toenail. I hope it resolves itself easily. Never had one but I can imagine it would hurt.
